Are fussy kids turning suppertime into a battleground? Don't worry! My complete juicing for kids is coming to your rescue...
Can juicer recipes for kids really help? Shouldn't they rather be eating plenty of fruits and vegetables? In an ideal world, yes! But does this happen?
Getting kids to eat enough fresh goodies, is a never-ending struggle parents all over the world face daily. It is estimated that in toddlers to teens, only about 10 to 25% of them eat the recommended number of fresh produce portions per day! That is a really worrying scenario.
Recipes and juicing tips for beginners and kids
Now, we can continue to have dinnertime squabbles about eating vegetables, or we can put on our creative hats and find other ways to increase children's intake painlessly. This is where smoothie and juicer recipes for kids come in!
Throw in my juicing tips for beginners and your mealtime headaches could become a thing of the past.
With a juicer in the kitchen, you can easily add extra portions of fruits and vegetables to your child's daily diet. In fact, if you approach this in the right way, juicing can grow into a fun family activity everyone can benefit from.
Children soon learn to love these colorful, healthy juice drinks. If you allow them to come up with names for their own recipes, they will be even more keen to be part of your juicing efforts. Just don't be surprised if they dream up a variety of fairly gross names for their 'monster' mixes, though! :-)
On a side note...

If you are just starting to juice for your kids, remember to dilute the juices with water at first. It also is a sensible idea to discuss juicing with your doctor, especially if there are any health concerns regarding your kids.
You can talk to your doctor or a nutritionist about the age you start to give them juice, as well as the quantity. Generally speaking, kids can begin to drink small quantities of veggie juice from around 2 years onward. I would not start with more than about half a cup at first.
Many parents find that by getting their kids involved in planting a vegetable garden, they will be much more likely to eat or drink 'their' veggies! If you can use this as a tool to cultivate an enthusiasm for fresh produce in your kids, they will be experiencing the benefits for years to come.
Smoothies can also enable you to make the switch to juicing. You can easily start to add small amounts of greens or other veggies to smoothie recipes. Alternatively, you can start by replacing some of the fluids that go into smoothies, with freshly extracted juice. This is a wonderful way to add extra nutrients to what will be seen as a treat.
